NBA Stadiums You Need to See

NBA Stadiums You Need to See for Yourself

The NBA continues to captivate tens of millions of basketball fans across the United States of America and the wider world in general. The blend of elite-level athleticism, end-to-end action and, of course, the skill of the players is what keeps the audience tuning in time after time.

Another factor that not only augments the viewing experience but also influences the action on the court and the NBA odds as a result is the atmosphere within the stadiums.

Whether it be the hostile atmosphere created by a febrile partisan crowd that causes a visiting side to crumble, or the sheer weight of history, NBA venues do have a significant impact on results.

If, like us, you don’t have a strong allegiance to any side in the NBA – hello fellow overseas viewers – and would love to experience a game in person for yourself, it’s easy to get bogged down with the range of choice on offer.

Fortunately for you, we’ve put together a list of 5 NBA stadiums that should be top of anyone’s must-visit list. Read on to find out what they are.

Chase Center, San Francisco

The Golden State Warriors are one of the best franchises in the NBA and regularly put on a show in front of their home fans, so visiting one of their games is as close as you can get to a sure thing for entertainment.

Based in San Francisco, one of the most culturally significant cities in the United States, this stadium has the dual pull of sporting and non-sporting attractions. The stadium itself is something to behold as well, based just across from the Mission Bay neighbourhood, the Chase Center cost an estimated $1.4 billion to build.

As you would expect for that type of outlay, it’s a truly jaw-dropping and state-of-the-art facility that will leave you speechless.

United Center, Chicago

At the start of the article, we outed ourselves as an overseas basketball fan and, like every other overseas basketball fan over the age of 30, our entry into the world of the NBA was facilitated by Space Jam star and basketball legend, Michael Jordan.

Since hanging up his cleats, Jordan’s old team have had a rough time of it, but that still doesn’t change the fact that the United Center – home to the Chicago Bulls – is a modern-day shrine to basketball royalty.

Intuit Dome, Los Angeles

To us, certain sports are better enjoyed on television than in the stadium, and typically basketball falls into that second category. On TV, for example, you can see way more of the action and you have access to instant replays that allow you to spot those small, easy-to-miss details.

The main draw to the stadium, however, is the atmosphere, and in the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers have the very best in the league. The recently built Intuit Dome features a European soccer-style “wall” that allows fans to create a real racket, which really helps to create a memorable experience for stadium-going fans.

Madison Square Gardens, New York

Hey, if it’s good enough for Godzilla, then it’s good enough for us right? For those in the back, that’s another 1990s film reference – keep your eyes peeled, because there’s a third coming to complete the trio later.

Anyway, Madison Square Garden is the home to the New York Knicks and is the self-styled “World’s Most Famous Arena”. Whilst that doesn’t stand up to scrutiny, it can’t be argued that it is one of the most famous sporting arenas in the United States and, because of that, is a must-visit for basketball fans.

TD Garden, Boston

It’s easy to forget, but the Boston Celtics side that recently cruised to the NBA Championships was one of the best teams that we have seen in decades in the NBA. Since the team began playing in their current venue back in 1995, they have brought home the bacon for fans in terms of trophies and accolades – so much so, you could call it Good Will Hunting…

Combine that history with the vociferous backing they receive from the crowd – all of which has that characteristic Boston ‘charm’ – and a trip to TD Garden to see the Celtics becomes an absolute no-brainer.
