The illustrations of Mike Ellis

Meet Mike Ellis, a Toronto-based artist and co-founder of the coworking space 156 Studio. Mike’s powerful illustrations have landed him in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Walrus (among many other fine publications), and have earned him several awards, including a spot on the CMYK Top 100 New Creatives list.

We are thrilled to announce that an image of Mike’s that perfectly captures the idea of renewal will be our first artwork of 2018. Subscribe by December 31st to receive this very special print.

About the art:

Mike’s stunning illustrations deftly combine interior and exterior spaces, using a careful combination of line and flat colour to play with our perception of space. His works explore human interaction with the built environment, and play with the meaning of home. A graduate of OCADU, Mike’s fantastic eye lends a fresh new perspective to the terrain of landscape art. We can’t wait to see more from this fantastic local artist.
